What you are actually hiring us for

Anyone can drive you between tasting rooms. What matters is the relationships behind the appointments, the timing of the day, and knowing which experiences suit your group.

01

Every tasting is booked ahead

Seated appointments arranged in advance, including special arrangements. You are expected when you arrive.

02

The same guide all day

The same local chauffeur from pickup to drop-off — someone who knows the properties, the people behind them, and which road is worth the detour.

03

Lunch is planned into the day

A table held for you downtown, or lunch brought in to sit alongside a midday tasting. Either way it is arranged before you arrive.

04

Nobody in your group has to drive

Door to door from your hotel, rental or the airport, so everyone can taste everything.

Vehicles

Three 2025 Mercedes Sprinters

We have operated a lot of different vehicle types and sizes over the years, and settled on Sprinter vans for a reason: you walk in rather than climb in, there is headroom to stand, and the windows are large enough that the valley is part of the day rather than something you glance at. Our compact Sprinter handles smaller groups and our two large Sprinters, which seat up to 14 each, handle groups of 7+ very comfortably — all 2025, black on black, with climate control, and room for luggage and/or wine purchases. Running the three together we can accommodate up to 39 guests at a time, and considerably more for an event on a shuttle rotation.

Full state and federal passenger authority — the valley spans two states, and the same licensing lets us serve well beyond it.

How a day tends to run

  1. Morning
    Pickup where you are staying
We load up, hand out water, and go over the plan for the day.
  2. Late morning
    The first appointment
Often a quiet, relaxing start before the wineries get busier.
  3. Midday
    Lunch, built into a tasting
Typically a casual but delicious lunch, picked up fresh and enjoyed alongside your tasting. Catered lunches, or breaking to eat downtown, are options too.
  4. Afternoon
    Out into the valley
Estate and scenic properties, bigger views, and a vineyard walk if the weather cooperates.
  5. Return
    Drop-off
Back to your accommodations, or a downtown drop-off with evening and dinner service if desired.

The people who will be with you all day

Ryan Madsen

Owner

I've always enjoyed bringing people together and facilitating connection. NW Touring & Concierge is the first of several ventures that focus on the relationships that strengthen while our guests are here with us. I want to personally invite you to come spend some time with me and my team, and celebrate the beauty of human bonds over food, wine, golf, nature and music.

After a long career in the PNW seafood industry, ending with a global seafood sustainability nonprofit, we settled in Walla Walla. We found a gracious community and a rich environment that includes an award-winning wine scene. With so many outstanding wineries all within 20 minutes of downtown, there is much to introduce you to. I love wine, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the valley in the hope you enjoy your visit enough to make it a return destination.

I'm a Walla Walla woman born and raised, with family ties here dating back to 1864. I ventured off to Seattle for about 30 years, where I had a great career as an interior designer and raised my family, but I came running back to the wine country and wheatlands as soon as I could. There are very few things I love more than a day settled into a beautifully crafted tasting room with a glass of red, good friends and family, and usually at least one of my rescue dogs in tow.

Put a date on the calendar
